Welcome!

The European Society of Women in Theological Research (ESWTR) is a network of women involved in academic research in the areas of theology and religious studies. The Society hosts a European conference every two years to discuss relevant themes in feminist theology. Between conferences scholars meet at national or regional levels and continue to work together in subject groups. In the General Assemblies 2015 in Crete and 2017 in Vienna the ESWTR decided to stress the interreligious focus at all levels of its engagement. The ESWTR is the editing body of the annual Journal of the European Society of Women in Theological Research and of the ESWTR Studies in Religion.

with the title:

Women and Prophecy. Mysticism as Transforming Action in the World.

ImagenESWTR2027Avila S M Cano

From an open and committed perspective in this conflicted world, we aim to foster a dialogue between contemplation and action. To achieve this, we will bring into conversation mystic women (mysticism understood as an experience of encounter, wonder, and joy with the Other that transforms) and prophets women (prophecy as a word proclaimed and vindicated) who have come before us, as well as women of our own time, so that both past and present can help us respond to the challenges of the future. The goal is to highlight the keys that allow us to build the plural reality of our time in social spaces of coexistence, recognition, and inclusion.

The conference will be held in the privileged setting of the University of Mysticism in Ávila: CITeS - Universidad Mística, where accommodation options will be available.

The detailed program, registration link, and call for papers will be published later at the same website.

The conference will be held in Spanish, English, and German.

Through this call, we request support and donations to organize this international congress with the utmost care and in ecumenical and interreligious communion, as we have no other external funding. The names and logos of the collaborating entities will be published in the program, on the Association´s international website, and on the social media of the Association of Spanish Women Theologians: Teología / Asociación de Teólogas Españolas and other related platforms before, during, and after the congress.

We attach the account number for donations: Holder: Association of Theologians TRIODOS BANK Iban: ES28 1491 0001 2021 2149 0821 Please indicate in the concept: AVILA 27
